EXCLUSIVE: Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has commented on Sarah Ferguson’s next move away from her ex-husband Andrew as they’re set to live apart for the first time in years

Sarah Ferguson has been forced to find a new home away from her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, for the first time in 17 years.

Sarah, also known as Fergie, and her ex-husband, Andrew, have been under public scrutiny due to scandals linked to their previous links with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence in the US for her crimes. Andrew has consistently strongly denied any allegations against him.

As a result, they have both given up their royal titles, despite Sarah keeping her Duchess of York title after their divorce in 1996. Furthermore, it was confirmed that Andrew and Sarah have been instructed to leave their home at Royal Lodge, a 30-bedroom Crown Estate property, where they’ve lived together despite their separation.

The former couple allegedly demanded to be housed in two separate royal properties following their eviction. However, Andrew is set to relocate to a property within the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, while Sarah will not be given alternative housing.

Instead, it has been reported that Sarah has secured her own private accommodation and won’t live with Andrew for the first time since 2008. In response to the earlier demands from the ex-couple and Sarah’s next big move, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond exclusively told the Mirror: “I don’t think she should be given another royal home. If she wants to continue living with Andrew, then fair enough.

“But she’s no longer a Duchess – or at least she is not going to use the title – she recently sold a Belgravia property for a sum reported to be more than £4 million, she has two daughters who are clearly wealthy and love her very much, she really doesn’t need to throw herself on the mercy of her ex brother-in-law.

“She’s a grown woman who should be able to stand on her own two feet. So if she wants to live away from Andrew, then she should just find a suitable property and either buy it or pay the rent like anyone else.”

There have also been allegations that Sarah could release her own memoir. On this claim, Jennie commented: “My first reaction is, ‘Oh, she wouldn’t dare, would she?’ But then I suppose nothing should surprise us about that couple.

“Her previous books have been critical of herself, rather than the royal family. She’s always expressed deep admiration and love for the late Queen, and affection and gratitude for Charles.

“So I find it hard to believe that she would dish the dirt in a new book. But then this royal saga never ceases to amaze me!”
