With the Prince and Princess of Wales moving into Forest Lodge, they will be implementing one huge change that Andrew did no adopt

Prince William and Princess Kate have moved into their ‘forever home’ of Forest Lodge on the Windsor estate, before their deadline of Bonfire Night. .

While work had been underway to prepare the home for the Waleses, there was chaos brewing elsewhere on the Windsor estate as Andrew was forced out of Royal Lodge – which he has inhabited since 2003 – after being stripped of his title of Prince by King Charles in a shocking statement on Thursday.

Despite the fact that William and Kate have only lived at the nearby Adelaide Cottage for three years, a royal expert has revealed the true reason behind their move.

According to Jennie Bond, Kate’s gruelling cancer journey has left her craving a big change and fresh start for her family, as Jennie said: “After the past couple of years, with all the emotional stress of illness and family rifts, this new start is exactly what they need.

“They say moving home can be one of the most stressful things in life, but for William, Catherine and their children, I think it will be a welcome breath of fresh air.”

While William and Kate are said to be funding the refurbishments to Forest Lodge privately, they are also expected to pay rent at the market rate to the Crown Estate.

This is a far cry from Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s rent deal at Royal Lodge, as it emerged in recent reports that he has paid effectively no rent since he moved into the 30-room mansion over 20 years ago.

Andrew signed a 75-year lease on the property in 2003 but has since then, he has paid “one peppercorn” of rent “if demanded” per year, the leasehold agreement states. A copy of this shows Andrew paid £1 million for the long lease on the Royal Lodge in 2003.

As pressure intensified on Andrew over his minimal rental payments on the Crown Estate property, in addition to the years of scandals surrounding his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein, Buckingham Palace released a statement to confirm that the King’s younger brother would be evicted from the Royal Lodge.

Andrew held a “cast-iron” 75-year lease for the Grade II listed home, which meant the King had no legal way of forcing his younger brother’s hand and making him move out against his will, so Andrew had to agree to do so voluntarily.

Once the Royal Lodge eviction is finalised, it has been said that Andrew will move to a private residence on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, which will be funded by King Charles.
