Mild temperatures will dominate much of this week

London is set to continue its spell of mild autumn weather this week, with temperatures hovering in the mid teens alongside short bouts of drizzle, before a near-perfect weekend of sunshine.

Today (Wednesday, November 5) will see sunny climes and a gentle breeze with temperatures reaching a comfortable 17C for much of the afternoon, BBC Weather reports. Moderate peaks of 16C and 17C will continue into Thursday and Friday, although Londoners can expect several mild patches of rain in the latter half of the week.

Meanwhile, the weekend promises to be one of almost complete sunshine. Saturday, November 8, will see temperatures hitting a peak of 15C, with clear sunshine set to linger throughout the day along with light winds. It’s a pattern that will repeat on Sunday, although the mercury will rise no higher than 13C.

But there’s a catch. After the weekend, the outlook will turn grim as Monday, November 10, will see almost non-stop rainfall from 11am persisting throughout the day, while drizzle will carry on into next Tuesday. Top temperatures will be slightly lower at around 13C

Sunny intervals are expected to return next Wednesday, with mixed weather conditions throughout next week. Londoners can expect top temperatures of around 11C, with sunny intervals and short patches of mild rain, before drier weather resumes in the middle of November.

The Met Office stated: “Changeable and at times unsettled weather is likely to continue [from next week], with low pressure dominating the UK. This means further showery outbreaks of rain at times.

“There could also be some overnight fog, which could be slow to clear through the day. A transition to a less unsettled weather pattern becomes increasingly probable from around the 11th or 12th of the month, making drier weather increasingly common.”

In other parts of the country, meanwhile, including parts of Devon, Cornwall and South Wales, there are yellow rain weather warnings in place.
