An investigation is underway into the shooting of a 26-year-old man in Peckham yesterday evening (November 5). A cordon remains in place on Peckham Hill Street, with blue-and-white tape stretching to Peckham Square and Peckham Library.
Photos taken on the busy road this morning show a forensics team scouring the pavement on their hands and knees. Officers are also searching inside a Filipino restaurant where the victim sought help.
Medical equipment and evidence bags have been propped up against the doorway as work continues. The Metropolitan Police says the injured man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
No one has been arrested in connection at this stage, and enquiries into what happened are ongoing.
