Kyrone Moodie was just 27 at the time of his death
The Metropolitan Police is offering a £20,000 reward for information two months after a ‘loving family man’ was shot dead in Brixton Hill. Kyrone Moodie was found seriously injured in a car park on New Park Road on September 8 but died in hospital the next day.
Three men have since been charged in connection to the 27-year-old’s death but detectives believe there may still be potential suspects at large. It’s also thought a number of witnesses are yet to come forward.
The money will be paid out to anyone who provides intel leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible. Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation, said: “While my team has made significant progress, we are now appealing to the public to help ensure that everyone responsible for this tragedy is held accountable.
“In particular, the residents of New Park Road may hold vital information that could help us identity more people involved. Were you in the area on Monday, 8 September?
“Did you see or hear anything suspicious? A reward of £20,000 is now being offered to encourage the public to speak up and help us.”
Kyrone’s family continue to receive support from specialist officers with the Metropolitan Police. They previously described Kyrone as a witty, religious member of the community.
“Kyrone was a loving family man. He was genuine and determined,” they said in a statement, “He helped everyone he could. Kyrone was just a humble, funny and God-worshiping family-orientated man.”
A 20-year-old man was also shot in the stomach during the incident but escaped with non-life-threatening or life-changing injuries.
Three men charged in connection
Three men from South London have now been charged in connection with Kyrone’s death, having initially been arrested on September 24. They are:
- Dontai Stuart, 26, of Surrey Lane, Wandsworth
- Karshae Mundle, 27, of Denmark Road, Camberwell
- Conner Sullivan, 28, of Hickmore Walk, Clapham
They appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on September 26 and were remanded into custody. A fourth man was bailed after his arrest.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 7805/8SEP2 or Operation Concito. Anonymous reports can be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111 or the charity’s website.
