Anyone who recognises him is urged to come forward
Police have shared an e-fit image of a man they want to speak to after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted at a Tube station in East London. The victim was at Gants Hill station just before 4pm on Sunday, August 17 when she was attacked.
The man responsible then ran onto a Central line train towards Stratford, according to the British Transport Police (BTP). The force is now hoping the public can identify a person of interest.
Detective Sergeant Gough, who is leading the investigation, said: “Unfortunately CCTV footage of the incident was unavailable in this particular case, so we are releasing an E-fit of a person we would like to speak to in connection.
“We believe that the man may have information which could help our investigation and urge anyone who recognises him to get in touch.”
The image shows a Black man who appears to be in his late thirties to early fifties. He has jaw-length locs and is wearing a black cap.
Anyone who recognises the man pictured is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 349 of 17 August. Anonymous reports can be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111 or the charity’s website.
