A pet owner discovered the creepy room, complete with an tattered Bible and spooky film reel, when she was looking for her three pet cats. She has since moved out of property

A panicked pet owner was left distraught after thinking that her three beloved cats had gone missing from her flat – only to find out the scary truth.

In a Scooby Doo style twist, Madison, who was living in Colorado at the time, discovered her trio of moggies in a hidden room on her property. She went to investigate after hearing the trapped pets, called Leo, Nala and Sully, meowing through a storage cupboard.

“We couldn’t find them anywhere,” she recalled. “We definitely considered that one of us had maybe left a door or window open.”

After hearing the noise in the cupboard, Madison and her partner were in disbelief when they discovered a fake wall, behind which was a vast secret cellar beneath the house. In chilling footage posted on TikTok, the three cats can be seen wandering out of the hidden room.

The massive room, which in the video appears to be pitch black and filthy, seems to have allowed the cats to come and go as they please.

It doesn’t look like it’s the first time they’ve done it either – considering none of the pets appear particularly bothered by being there!

To make the whole thing even creepier, the room was not empty. According to Madison, she found a Bible in a zip-lock baggie sewn together by fishing wire.

Spookily, there was also a large mason jar sealed full of dirt and rocks, as well as an old half-developed roll of film were all discovered in the creepy cellar.

“It seemed like someone was down there at some point”, Madison told Newsweek.

While no explanation has been given for the cellar, nor for the creepy belongings discovered in it, fans of the horror film Sinister will be particularly spooked by the discovery of old films in a secret room, as this pretty much mirrors the movie’s terrifying plot.

As Madison and her partner were renting from a massive property firm, they were unable to shed any light on the issue. They have since moved out after finding the discovery too ‘creepy’.

“We were pretty freaked out by it and decided not to go down there any more,” Madison admitted. “But at least the cats had a blast exploring it!”

Now safely back in Texas, she’s warning fellow pet owners: “Cats are extremely curious animals. You’ll never know what they discover!”
