That includes big savings on fragrances, advent calendars and toiletries
As a shopping writer, this time of year means one thing: I’m scouring every Black Friday deal to make sure readers get the absolute best value for their money. And this year, Boots has kicked things off early with a huge sales event.
The high street favourite has slashed prices across big-name beauty and fragrance favourites, as well as advent calendars, so that fans can secure a treat in time for 1 December. But with so many offers dropping at once, the choice can feel overwhelming.
To help narrow things down, I’ve picked out my top five buys from the early Black Friday deals – the ones that deliver real value, substantial savings, and that little bit of festive joy. Scroll for my favourites.
Estée Lauder Skincare Superstars Beauty Of The Night Gift Set – £50, was £100
Estée Lauder is a classic beauty staple for a reason. The brand’s skincare is famously effective, but also famously pricey, which is why this deal immediately caught my eye. The Beauty of the Night Gift Set, worth £149, has been reduced from £100 to £50, which essentially works out to £10 per product.
Inside, fans will find five bestselling formulas, including the Advanced Night Cleansing Gelée and the Revitalising Supreme+ Crème Moisturiser. Each product aims to boost radiance, plumpness and hydration – all ideal for party-season prep when skin can look a little dull.
Shoppers have praised the set as an “excellent value product”, with lots saying they used the items for “years” however a couple of shoppers have also noted they found the set to be “pricey”. Elsewhere, Look Fantastic has some great beauty gift sets on offer. That includes 20% off Sol de Janeiro’s Bom Dia Jet Set (£24, down from £30), which features a trio of body care and fragrance treats to enjoy.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau de Toilette 50ml – £37.50, was £75
Marc Jacobs Daisy Love is one of those perfumes that remains a constant on fragrance fans’ shelves. It’s sweet, uplifting, and universally flattering: a fruity-floral blend of cloudberries, daisy tree petals, and soft cashmere musks. The result is vibrant, youthful and subtly gourmand.
While it’s perfect for spring and summer, Daisy Love is also the kind of scent that can transport anyone straight into holiday mode during the coldest months. For those who prefer a fragrance that evokes a warm, sunny, and instantly mood-boosting atmosphere, this is the deal to go for.
Rated 4.7 out of five with more than 3,100 reviews, one Marc Jacob fan said: “You don’t need to spritz much, which is great, and it lasts so long.” However, another shopper said: “This is just ok for me. It’s a little too fruity and musky, whereas I prefer florals and fresh scents.”
A five-star review added: “This is my favourite perfume. I always get compliments when I wear it.”
Macmillan 24 Doors Of Joy Beauty Advent Calendar – £44, was £90
For an advent calendar that delivers both value and feel-good festive spirit, the Macmillan 24 Doors of Joy calendar is one of the strongest options in the Boots sale. Inside, shoppers will find 24 beauty treats from beloved names, including Liz Earle, Soap & Glory, No7, and Champneys – everything from indulgent body butters to makeup essentials, such as mascara.
Fans will get an impressive mix of skincare, body care and beauty staples for less than half price, but what makes this calendar even more special is that £2 from every purchase goes directly to Macmillan Cancer Support. A brilliant gift, a brilliant saving, and a brilliant cause.
For more great-value advent calendars, I’ve rounded up some of my favourites here. That includes picks from Yankee Candle, Ted Baker and William Morris.
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – £20.65, was £29.50
Urban Decay’s All Nighter is a cult-favourite setting spray for a reason, and its early Black Friday savings make it an easy win for any makeup lover. Our shopping editor Phoebe Barton has praised this formula for its weightless feel and unrivalled staying power.
Designed to lock makeup in place for up to 16 hours, it resists fading, smudging and settling into fine lines, keeping your look fresh from morning to night. The discount may be modest, but for a product this reliable, it’s absolutely worth taking advantage of.
Rated 4.7 out of five stars and with more than 5900 reviews, shoppers have praised the spray, with one saying: “My makeup stays on all night and is so shiny gives a nice glow and feels so smooth on the face.” However, another said they thought it had a “weird scent” when using.
Praising its fixing ability, another shopper said they “literally got washed downstream in the rain and my makeup was still intact afterwards.”
ghd Platinum+ Hair Straightener Festive Gift Set – £224.00, was £249
Shoppers looking to upgrade their haircare kit should consider this ghd gift set, which includes three items: the ghd Platinum+ Professional Smart Styler, the All-Rounder Paddle Brush, and a heat-resistant bag. The Smart Styler is the highlight here, ideal for creating a wealth of styles, from straight tresses to loose, glamorous waves.
The hair tool has an optimum styling temperature of 185ËšC to protect strands from damage, and precision-milled styling plates for a smooth, shiny finish. Meanwhile, the paddle brush is ideal for detangling, and the heat-resistant bag lets users neatly store it when not in use.
However, it’s still quite expensive, even with the discount. With that in mind, Remington has discounted its Sleek & Smooth Slim Straightener down to £34.99 from £64.99, saving shoppers £35.
