Condensation is one of the most irritating problems which happens in the colder seasons, but one man revealed how to stop the issue from arising in your car each morning
Drivers across the UK are preparing themselves for cold weather and a season of de-icing their cars. Unfortunately, the issue of frozen windscreens occurs annually as the temperatures dip, but it doesn’t need to be a problem anymore.
While most people depend on spray or scrapers to defrost their windscreens, what happens to the moisture inside the car afterwards? That’s precisely when condensation emerges, and fortunately you no longer need to spend ages clearing the windows. Condensation occurs when warm, humid air meets a cooler surface. This subsequently cools down, prompting the vapour to transform into liquid water droplets on the surface.
Although it’s irritating to handle, one man has revealed the ultimate trick to reduce the morning stress. On TikTok, user @360_dimez posted a clip demonstrating how cars will appear in the UK shortly.
It displays a frozen windscreen with the caption: “POV: Everyone in the UK in two weeks,” written above “How girls really defrost their cars.”
The footage then shows the driver utilising their wiper blades on the windscreen to hopefully scrape away the ice, but the TikTok user has another technique up his sleeve.
He explained: “I used to do the same to get my windows clear but then all that moisture on the inside of my windshield would show up and yeah the water does go away after a while but that moisture stays in the car.
“And if that build up of moisture does not get sorted it can turn into mould growth in the car. I didn’t want that to happen so I got these dehumidifier bags you just put on your dashboard overnight and that’s soaks up all the wetness and condensation.”
The following morning he claimed there wasn’t any moisture on his windscreen and said it was “completely dry”.
What’s clever about these pouches is you’ll know they’re doing their job as the blue dot changes to pink, indicating it’s soaked up the dampness.
It’s also brilliant because you can reuse the pouches by sticking them in the microwave for a couple of minutes.
He finished: “I’ve been okay with just using one but they do come as a two pack and I got mine for £20 but they’re on TikTok for £12 right now, these will probably sell out quick.”

How to banish fog in your car:
- Use the defroster: Turn on the defroster setting to direct air onto the inside of the windscreen.
- Turn on the AC: The AC system dehumidifies the air, which helps dry the windows quickly.
- Turn off air recirculation: Make sure the system is set to bring in fresh, outside air rather than recirculating the moist air inside the car.
- Crack the windows: Briefly opening the windows can help equalise the temperature and humidity, allowing moist air to escape.
- Wipe with a microfibre cloth: Keep a clean microfibre cloth or a dedicated anti-fog cloth in your car to wipe away condensation without leaving smears.
