The mobile and broadband provider has announced that new and re-contracting customers will see their price rise every by £4 a month from April 2026
TalkTalk has become the latest telecoms giant to increase its mid-contract price rise for millions of customers.
The mobile and broadband provider has announced that new and re-contracting customers will see their price rise every by £4 a month from April 2026.
This applies to people who joined TalkTalk or re-contracted on or after November 16 and is the equivalent of paying an extra £48 a year. The higher price rise does not effect existing customers.
If you’re a TalkTalk customer and you joined or re-contracted between August 12, 2024 and November 15, 2025, your price rise remains at £3 a month. This also kicks in from April 2026.
A TalkTalk spokesperson said: “We’re changing our price rise terms for new and re-contracting customers only, to help us carry on investing in our services.
“Customers who are currently in-contract won’t see any difference, and as ever we’re always here to help with any questions or concerns.”
The move comes as other providers, such as O2, Virgin Media, Vodafone and Three, also announced higher price rises.
Three mobile customers who take out a data plan of 4GB or less from November 9 will be subject to a price rise of £1.80 a month from April 2026 – up from its current £1 monthly increase.
Those who take out a plan of between 4GB and 100GB will see their monthly price rise by £1.90 from April 2026, while customers who have more than 100GB will be hit with an increase of £2.30 a month.
Three broadband customers will see their bills rise by £3.50 a month from April.
Vodafone mobile customers who take out a deal from November 12 will see their monthly bill rise by £2.50 a month, or £1.50 for its Basics SIM plans. Vodafone broadband customers will be hit with £3.50 monthly price rise.
O2 announced almost all mobile and SIM-only contract customers will see their monthly mobile bill rise by £2.50 a month from April 2026 – up from the originally planned increase of £1.80 a month.
A VodafoneThree spokesperson said: “We know no one likes price rises, but they are essential for us to keep investing and innovating.”
An O2 spokesperson said: “With demand for mobile data at an all-time high, we’re introducing a 70p per month increase to annual price rises for O2 customers, effective each April.
“An annual rise of £2.50 a month – around 8p a day – continues to represent excellent value for services that customers are using more than ever before.
“We’ve again frozen prices on handset repayment plans and are investing £700m into our mobile network this year to ensure we meet growing demand and give our customers the fast and reliable connectivity they rely on.
“Customers on our social tariffs continue to be exempt from any price changes as part of our efforts to provide support to those who need it most.”
