‘Brilliant product, saw results after just one use’

As teeth whitening continues to grow in popularity, more people are turning to at-home solutions. This Black Friday, Dr Dent is running a massive seasonal promotion with up to 75% off sitewide – giving shoppers a way to get results at home for 55p per whitening session.

Launched in 2016, Dr Dent’s dentist-approved formula is gentle on enamel, providing a comfortable at-home whitening experience without the sensitivity associated with traditional bleaching gels, the brand says. Instead of peroxide, the product uses PAP (phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid), which the brand claims oxidises stains at the molecular level – in other words, breaking them down so they become invisible.

Dr Dent also says the flagship professional teeth whitening strips can remove years of built-up coffee, wine, and nicotine stains from the comfort of the sofa in 30 to 60 minutes each day. A single pack contains 42 strips (21 treatments for top and bottom teeth) and costs £19.20 for a one-time purchase, down from £28.79. That works out to around 91p per whitening session, although this can be lowered to 55p per session with the brand’s Subscribe and Save monthly plan.

These purple whitening strips are another option, and have been enhanced with colour-correcting technology that Dr Dent says neutralises yellow tones on contact for an immediately brighter smile. A single pack of 42 strips costs £24 for a one-time purchase, down from £35.98.

The brand also sells a professional teeth whitening kit that uses LED-activated gel to brighten smiles while protecting enamel. It currently costs £28.80 as a one-off purchase, down from £43.19.

Or, this Crystal X teeth whitening powder can be used with a toothbrush to reduce stains in just 1 to 2 minutes of brushing, the brand says. A one-time purchase costs £14.40, down from £21.59, in the Black Friday sale.

Shoppers can unlock additional savings of 40% across the Dr Dent range when they subscribe to monthly deliveries, which could be a cost-effective option for longer-term whitening. These subscriptions are flexible and can easily be paused, skipped, or cancelled online.

There are also free gifts included for multibuys. Two-pack bundles come with free Day and Night Toothpastes, while three-packs include the toothpastes plus a bottle of whitening coconut pulling oil.

Elsewhere, Boots is selling the Wisdom Intense White teeth whitening strips, which cost £26 for a seven-day system. According to the brand, these strips are clinically proven to deliver up to seven shades of whitening in one week, and they’ve been formulated with antibacterial totarol that helps prevent plaque and stains.

On the cheaper side, Superdrug sells its own ProCare purple whitening strips that help neutralise yellow stains and brighten teeth after just one use, the brand says. They cost £8, down from £15.99, for a pack of 12 strips, which works out to around £1.33 per whitening session.

However, customers seem pleased with their Dr Dent whitening experience. One shared their opinion, saying: “No pain or tingling, which is rare for whitening. Definitely gentle.”

A second added: “I was sceptical, but results showed fast. I drink coffee daily and had zero sensitivity. The strips stay put and peel off clean. Feels like a smart buy.”

Others left feedback, with one saying: “The strips arrived quickly, I found them a bit fiddly to use, but I am gradually getting the knack. I’ve used them about five times and my teeth look a bit whiter. It’s early days, but I don’t want a ridiculously fake white teeth effect anyway.”

Another customer added: “Easy to apply and use, though I struggled with leaving the strips on for 30 minutes and not having to regularly spit out the purple gel that was forming. They did seem to whiten my teeth a bit though!”

Other reviewers took to Trustpilot to leave their thoughts, where Dr Dent is rated an impressive 4.5 out of five. One customer said: “Brilliant product, saw results after just one use. Would 100% recommend if you haven’t tried it already.”

The Dr Dent Black Friday sale is live until 23.59pm on November 29.
