Aldi’s root hero finally makes an honest vegetable of Katie with an eventful wedding in Leek

As celebrations go, this one was hard to beet.
When Kevin the Carrot finally proposed to Katie, it was clear that the long-overdue nuptials of the Christmas-obsessed vegetables would be a late contender for wedding of the year.
Christmas weddings are something of a rarity; you have to have serious pulling power to persuade your loved ones to change their plans for the holidays. For Kevin and Katie, though, it was non-negotiable.
We all love Christmas – but this carrot couple *love* Christmas. They famously met on the Christmas Express, when an instantly smitten Kevin saved Katie from being hit by a rogue pea.
In the years since, the holidays have involved incredible adventures for them. Whether it be failing to get to Paris or persuading a miserly banana to believe in Christmas, it’s always been the most exciting time of the year for the two.
But despite having three beautiful baby carrots, Kevin and Katie’s seasonal escapades have always prevented them from tying the knot.
At last, though, 2025 saw the inseparable veggies finally make it official, at a lavish ceremony in a forest in Leek, in front of their family and many famous friends.

The catering, naturally, was a sumptuous Christmas feast. And as is always the case with this cute carrot couple, there were a few surprises.
What was no surprise was that Kevin’s stag do got pretty wild. Masterminded by his brother Kelvin, it was supposed to be a quiet affair: a stay at the Four Seasonings Hotel and a trip to the Christmas markets.
But after the boys called in at the Pickled Pepper for a few drinks, they got caught up in the spirit of the season and, long story short, Kevin ended up tied to the North Pole wearing a designer mankini Kelvin had happened to bring along.
Fortunately, all was well. Kevin has saved Christmas on many occasions – and this time, it was his turn to be saved, as he was whisked away from the Pole before he could become a carrot ice lolly.
Katie, meanwhile, kept things simple but classy on her hen do, having a skin peel and getting her roots done at a swish spa getaway with her best gal pals.

The wedding was, of course, a memorable affair. In a classic Kevin and Katie twist, the vegistrar who was supposed to marry them got into a pickle and was unable to make it.
Any other couple might have postponed things. But with the plucky “can do” attitude that exemplifies his approach to life, Kevin took the bold decision to officiate the service himself.
The star-studded audience were delighted and then thrilled as Kevin made an honest carrot of himself, then led the wedding band through a heartfelt rendition of ‘Love Is All Around’.
The pair’s honeymoon destination had been a closely guarded secret to avoid unwanted attention from the pepperazi. There were rumours they’d head for Orange County in California – much favoured by the carroterati.

But Kevin and Katie kept it real with a visit to Brussels for a cultured few days and a chance to visit their sprout friends.
Maybe they kept it a little too real. Upon arrival, Kevin slathered himself in honey and presented his derriere to his bride; clearly, he had misunderstood the meaning of “honeymoon”.
But that’s just another charming anecdote from the lives of Kevin and Katie – who are, at the end of the day, just a couple of regular carrots who love Christmas and don’t take themselves too seriously. And that’s why we love them.
They’ve survived their biggest adventure to date – we can’t wait to see what next Christmas has in store for them.
