After trying a product many cleaners rave about, I found it worked brilliantly for removing stubborn grease from my air fryer baskets without any scrubbing

Cleaning the air fryer, particularly when it’s been neglected for a bit, is one of the most tedious tasks imaginable. I use my air fryer every few days, usually for cooking chicken, salmon fillets, crispy bacon or a jacket potato.

As I have a dual-basket air fryer, I usually switch between the two when one side gets dirty. But I’d let both get in a greasy state so a thorough clean was desperately needed.

After seeing numerous cleaners and cleaning enthusiasts rave about the magic of Fairy Skip the Soak for cutting through grease on various areas around the house, such as oven doors, oven racks, hobs and plates, I decided to try it on my air fryer. There’s nothing more frustrating than spending ages scrubbing air fryer baskets only to find that the burnt-on grease still lingers.

Upon applying the cleaning liquid to the baskets, I immediately noticed the foamy spray turning brown, indicating that the grease had begun to soften and dissolve.

The concept behind Fairy Skip the Soak is that it effortlessly tackles grease and stuck-on mess, reports the Express. It’s a concentrated formula designed to combat stubborn grease without the need for soaking.

To degrease my air fryer baskets, I began by removing the grill tray inserts so I could spray the bottom of the basket before also spraying the trays. I did notice that the spray had a rather potent smell compared to washing-up liquids, and I wasn’t overly fond of it.

I let the spray do its thing for about five minutes, perhaps a tad less, before rinsing the baskets. As I washed the trays and baskets under water, I could see the grease just washing away without any need for scrubbing or a sponge.

I was taken aback by how effectively the spray worked with no effort from me, especially as the grease and grime had been left to build up for some time.

After a thorough rinse, I made sure to dry the baskets before popping them back into the appliance. Seeing how well this worked on my air fryer, I’m now keen to give the spray a go on my extractor fan and oven.
