A man has suffered three broken ribs after being attacked in East Croydon. Shortly after midnight on Thursday, September 18, two men had an argument on the station platform.
British Transport Police (BTP) says that as both men turned and walked away from each other, one doubled back and pushed the other man over. He fell backwards into a wall, causing the injury to his ribs.
The force has released a CCTV image of a man linked to the investigation. He’s a white man with short brown hair, wearing a white t-shirt, grey shirt and black jacket.
A BTP statement reads: “Officers investigating an assault in East Croydon which left a man with broken ribs have released an image of a man they would like to speak to. Just after midnight on Thursday September 18 2025, two men had a brief exchange on the platform of East Croydon railway station.
“As the men walked away from one another, one doubled back and shoved the other man who fell backwards against a wall, causing three broken ribs. Officers believe the man pictured may have information that could help their investigation. “Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 18 of 18 September.
