A Tube station on the District line is currently closed due to a ‘police investigation’. Transport for London (TfL) shared the update on X at 9.90am on Thursday (April 18) where it wrote “Becontree station – This station is closed due to an ongoing police investigation.”
The nature of the incident is unknown, but the BTP and LAS have been contacted for comment. Becontree Station is in Dagenham, east London, and is served by the District line.
Travel website Inrix mentions the station is closed while the emergency services deal with the incident, but doesn’t mention any other closures on the line. Should you need to get to the area, the station east is Dagenham Heathway, and Upney to the west.
A spokesperson for TfL said the Met Police and London Ambulance Service are handling the incident.
