Mum Jordan Capitano re-signed a year-long lease with her partner of eight years shortly after discovering he was talking to other women online and even meeting up with one
A mum forced to live with her ‘cheating’ ex is exacting revenge by torturing him and waking him up with ‘karma karaoke’ until she can move out. Jordan Capitano re-signed a year-long lease with her partner of eight years in July 2023 but split up shortly afterward when she says she caught him talking to women online and even meeting up with one.
The pair, who share a two-year-old son, realised it would cost £8,000 ($10,000) to break their lease and decided to remain living together until it runs out in July 2024. The 28-year-old, who admits she’s ‘not the best’ at singing, decided to get the ultimate revenge by serenading him at the most inconvenient moments using a karaoke machine she was gifted in March.
Planning to move out on April 27, Jordan is documenting the final 25 days of living with her ex through her ‘Karma Karaoke’ clips on TikTok. The mum-of-one shared a hilarious clip of her singing Carrie Underwood’s ‘Before He Cheats’ to her ex as he sleeps, which has now racked up 4.8 million views.
The footage shows Jordan turning on the lights in her ex’s bedroom before singing loudly while the dad wakes up and puts a pillow over his head in frustration. Administrator Jordan claims her karma karaoke has helped her healing process while living under the same roof as her ex.

She has even turned it into a lucrative side hustle for other scorned lovers, and has already made £400 ($500) by recording karaoke takes for fans to annoy their partners with. Jordan’s ex-partner, who doesn’t wish to be named, admitted he understands her desire to take revenge and says he ‘feels bad for hurting Jordan’ by cheating but said ‘we all make mistakes’.
Jordan, who lives in Tampa, Florida, US, said: “It’s my revenge. He hurt me so now I’m going to annoy the s**t out of him. If I don’t joke about it I’ll cry, it’s very healing. I have trauma from the things that have happened in the relationship. He literally has no clue when I’m going to do it. It’s always at inconvenient times. It’s a prank. But he’s not angry about it. We’re able to joke with each other.
“Me and him have a good foundation and friendship. We’ve been together since I was 18, we have a lot of history. But whether we’re friends or not, he knows what he has done to hurt me. There was some cheating towards the end of the relationship, that was the final straw. He was talking to people online, he admitted to it, he’s very honest with me. The last straw was when he went to a casino and just met a random girl.
“I’m not harbouring anger anymore. At this point I’m just getting my revenge because it makes the days go by faster, it’s funny. It does give me a sense of empowerment. People have told me to burn his clothes. No, I’m not going to do anything crazy to hurt him. This is more positive. I’m not the best singer but I’ve always loved singing. I used to want to be on Broadway when I was younger but I couldn’t because I’m not a good singer.
“I want to have a funny friendship with him because ultimately, that is beneficial for our son.” Cheeky Jordan revealed her karma karaoke is helping her get through the final 25 days of living with him, but admits she’s not going to stop there. Jordan said: “Last year I was very upset and emotional about it. I didn’t know how I was supposed to be stuck living with my ex for a year.
“But I stuck with it and now I’m moving out in 12 days. We are both ready to move on with our lives. I waited eight-and-a-half months and found the perfect apartment at the perfect price. Karaoke made it more bearable living with my ex. I’ll still be seeing him because we have a child together. I have an idea that when I’ve been gone a month I’ll see if he’s home and put on the karaoke full-blast and torture him.”
Other clips on TikTok show Jordan singing ‘No Scrubs’ by TLC in her kitchen before her ex comically happens to return from a dog walk and shoot her a confused look. A third clip captures Jordan screaming Beyoncé’s ‘Irreplaceable’ outside the bathroom while he tries to take a shower, captioned ‘for all my irreplaceable ladies’.
Now Jordan says she hopes her karma karaoke helps inspire other women to heal from their toxic relationships. Jordan said: “It means a lot to me when people message me telling me they can relate or that I’ve given them strength. One girl told me she was leaving her relationship because of my bravery. It’s so insane to be able to help people through my revenge and my healing process.
“Now people are paying me to call their exes and sing karaoke to their exes over the phone whether they answer or not. I torture them in their voicemails by singing songs that have been requested. I’ve made over $500 so far, people are telling me to start a whole business. I basically tell people it is karma karaoke and that they’ve received some bad karma for being a jerk or a cheater.
“It is solely just to be funny and humorous. I’m not going to bully anybody or say anything nasty or threatening.” Many users in the comments praised Jordan for her revenge karaoke. One user wrote: “The series I didn’t know I’ve been waiting for my entire life.” Another user commented: “I shared this with my husband as a warning if he ever cheats.”
A third user wrote: “This is a girl who knows she deserves more.” A fourth user commented: “Girl I live for these, you are healing me.” Other users jumped to Jordan’s ex’s defence. One user wrote: “How’s he handle stuff like this.” Another user commented: “He has patience.”
Jordan’s 27-year-old ex, who did not wish to be named, said: “I think it’s a unique idea and it’s Jordan’s way of getting revenge on me for hurting her in our relationship. As for the cheating, I feel badly for hurting Jordan. We all make mistakes but I feel like we’re better apart and not together.”
