A man has been arrested on the suspicion of murder following a fatal stabbing in Croydon last Friday (April 12). The 34-year-old was arrested in the early hours of this morning (Friday, April 19) at an address in Lambeth.
He is still in custody. It comes after the emergency services raced to Fellmongers Yard, Croydon, at around 6pm last Friday to reports of a stabbing.
Despite paramedics’ best efforts, Rijkaard Siafa, 22, died at the scene. A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and was bailed until mid-June.

The post-mortem examination – which happened yesterday (Thursday, April 18) – found Rijkaard died from multiple stab wounds. Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command leads the investigation and said: “While this arrest marks a significant development in our investigation, I am still appealing to anyone with information about Rijkaard’s murder to come forward.
“We have had a great response from the local community and I would like to thank those who have helped us so far. However, if you saw or know something that could assist I would urge you to get in touch immediately.”
