London has seen another week of tragedy with two murders, three young men killed in a car crash, and a body pulled from a canal. Stabbings in Leytonstone and Dagenham have seen two lose their life, while there have been plenty of other non-fatal knife attacks around the city where the victims were thankfully spared an early grave.

On Sunday night (April 14) at a round 11.25pm, three young men lost their lives as their car ploughed through a fence at Staples Corner, near Brent Cross, in North West London. They have now been named as Mohamad Zeidani, 21, Mohammed Ghazzi, 21, and Sohail Zulfiqar, 20. Two other crash victims are still in hospital, but police say they are now stable.

The same day at around 7pm, a body was sadly pulled from a canal in Harlesden, West London, after reports of a man in the water near the Grand Junction Arms pub. At the time police said there had been no arrests, but enquiries were still ongoing.

On Friday, April 19, police announced a second man, aged 34, had been arrested in connection with Rijkaard’s death, following the arrest of a 20-year-old who has since been released on bail.

On Friday night at around 9pm, a man in his 20s was stabbed during a fight in Finsbury Park. He was rushed to hospital, but luckily the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

In the early hours of Saturday, April 20, at around 1.30am a double stabbing ended in death in Dagenham. One man was found with knife injuries in Rothwell Gardens and survived, but another man, aged 23, sadly died of his stab wounds on nearby Flamstead Road. Police have now arrested the surviving man after he was released from hospital.
