Been struggling to doze off lately? Worry not, as shoppers are raving about a holy grail product that is making them fall ‘fast asleep straight away’ – and it only costs £3 on Amazon

If you’re lying in bed with your eyes wide open, completely unable to nod off, you’re not alone.

Millions of adults struggle with sleep, with a 2017 poll finding two-thirds of Brits have disrupted sleep and 31 per cent think they may be suffering from insomnia. The NHS recommends adults get between seven and nine hours of sleep each night – but recognises factors such as work, health, and lifestyle may make this difficult.

Getting enough kip is important to ‘rest and repair our mind’, so it’s no surprise that running off a few hours of Zzzs can have a negative impact on your physical and mental well-being. Luckily, Brits are hailing a £3 item that they say will knock you out for the whole night…

Fresh Skin Beauty’s Essential Lavender Oil has thousands of five-star reviews and is selling out fast on sites like Amazon. You can grab a 10ml bottle for £3.49 or stock up on the good stuff by investing in a 50ml version (£8.49) or 100ml pack (£12.99).

The 100 per cent pure lavender essential oil claims to ‘inogorate your mind, body and soul’ and may help with sleep, stress, anxiety, and even hair loss. “Best sleep ever!” one shopper raved. “I put a couple of drops on my pillow and I was fast asleep straight away. Definitely had one of the best sleep ever which is unusual for me as I’m always so stressed and unable to sleep.”

Another agreed, commenting: “I use a few drops at night on my pillow and wrist points and it helps me sleep. Fantastic value for money, I have bought lots of branded essential oils before but this is just as good, if not better than more expensive brands.” While a third added: “I love essential oils and lavender is my absolute favourite. I find it hard to sleep. Especially during pregnancy and this little bottle does wonders. It helps me doze off to sleep. Just add few drops of oil in the diffuser and it helps you soothe to sleep.”

However, not everybody is enthralled with the product – which shoppers claim has substantially increased in price over recent years. “Not very strong lavender smell and doesn’t last long,” one disappointed buyer wrote. Another fumed: “Disappointed that the company have pretty much doubled the price of this. It was the main reason I would buy repeatedly as I’m sure many others did. I will be buying a similar lavender oil from home bargains from now on.”

According to Bristol Live, there is a mounting number of studies that have hailed lavender oil for improving sleep quality’, especially in people who suffer from insomnia, depression, and anxiety’. The publication cites a 2015 paper that found ‘lavender and sleep hygiene improved sleep quality for college students with self-reported sleep issues’.

Another study even suggested lavender oil can improve sleep equality to a similar level as lorazepam – a medicine commonly used to treat ‘anxiety, trouble sleeping, and severe agitation’. For tips on falling asleep fast and sleeping better, you can check out these resources from the NHS.
