A man has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus on Oxford Street. Police rushed to the major street in London at around 1.40pm on Monday (April 22) to reports of a crash involving a London bus.
There they found the man in his 50s who was raced to hospital. MyLondon awaits a condition update. It has left the following London bus routes on diversion: 7, 94, 98, 139, and 390. There are heavy delays in the area so only head through if absolutely necessary and leave with plenty of time.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at approximately 1.40pm on Monday, April 22, to reports of a bus in collision with a pedestrian in Oxford Street. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the pedestrian, a man believed aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment – condition awaits.
“Road closures remain in place. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
A London ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.41pm this afternoon (April 22) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a bus o Oxford Street, W1C. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew.
“Our first paramedic was on the scene in two minutes.”
“We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”
