Prince Harry is said to have won over his wife Meghan Markle in a discussion over their young children, Archie and Lilibet.

Archie, who will turn five next month, and his little sister have lived their life largely out of the spotlight – and it seems their father is keen for that to continue. According to reports, Harry has convinced his wife not to feature Archie and Lilibet in their two upcoming Netflix series.

To coincide with Meghan’s new brand American Riviera Orchard, one of the shows is poised to “celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening , entertaining, and friendship”. Harry is also filming a project as part of the couple’s £100m deal with Netflix, as he focuses on the sport of polo and looks behind the scenes at the sport.

The desire to protect Archie and Lilibet’s privacy also means that Meghan’s lifestyle programme will be at a neighbour’s property, rather than the family’s £11 million home in Montecito.

The decision to keep the children out of the two new Netflix shows came from Harry, who grew up in England with his older brother Prince William , and is keen to keep his kids out of the public eye.

A source told the Sun on Sunday : “Harry and Meghan have not always agreed on how much they should expose their children to the media but, in this case, Harry has clearly won.

It follows reports that Meghan was keen on having the children by her side when she steps back into the limelight. Last year, the Sun reported: “Meghan wants to move back into public life — with Archie and Lilibet by her side.”

Prince Harry, meanwhile, is scheduled to return to the UK in a matter of days to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. Concerns over his family’s safety meant that he was likely to attend on his own, leaving his family in California. However, after losing his security battle against the UK Home Office earlier this year, it’s now being reported that he could instead appear via video link or a pre-recorded message.

His loss at the High Court has seen him landed with a bill totalling £1 million in legal costs and he’s said to be appealing the decision and to be “extremely disappointed” with the security plans for when he visits the UK.

Prince Harry’s rep said “no comment” when contacted by The Mirror.

A source told The Express : “Whenever Harry travels to the UK, his trips are always dependent on how secure he is. Before deciding whether to attend the Invictus Games anniversary event, his security team must be sure that St. Paul’s is adequately protected by the metropolitan police and his own security needs are met while he’s in London.”

The source added: “Harry wants to spend more time in the UK with his family, but there’s no way he can do that while a question mark hangs over his security detail.”

In February, Harry lost his security battle against the Home Office and Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) at the UK High Court after fighting them over security concerns.

The Duke had been trying to overturn a ruling which saw his security status downgraded after he stopped being a “working royal”, as he cited concerns over his safety and that of his wife and two young children.

Harry’s legal team had previously claimed he was “singled out” and treated “less favourably” by RAVEC, with Harry’s barrister Shaheed Fatima KC telling the High Court: “The claimant’s consistent position has been, and remains, that he should be given state security in light of the threats/risks he faces.”
