McDonald’s fans will be pleased to know that their favourite fast food chain should still be open this bank holiday Monday.

The early bank holiday falls on Monday, May 6 – and thankfully, you should still be able to get your Big Mac fix on this date. McDonald’s has roughly 1,300 branches in the UK – and of these, approximately 1,100 are franchised, so they can choose their own hours. This means opening times vary massively across the country.

To be absolutely sure of the opening times of your local store, you should use the McDonald’s restaurant locator online tool. Just pop in your postcode and it will bring up your closest branch. But to give you a rough idea, we’ve searched some locations across the country to check when they’ll be open.

For example, the McDonald’s in Canterbury high street is open 24 hours, seven days a week – and this will remain the case over the bank holiday weekend. Its branch in Northumberland Street in Newcastle is normally open from 6am until 4am, and this will also remain its opening hours over this weekend.

McDonald’s in Leicester Square in London will be open under its normal hours of 5am until 2.45am, as will the 24-hour branch in Fabian Way in Swansea, Wales. It comes as McDonald’s just launched its new menu, with the fan favourite Chicken Big Mac, plus the Biscoff McFlurry Galaxy McFlurry and Galaxy Caramel Pie all returning. Maccies has also released a new Biscoff Frappe, new Cheese and Herb Melts and new Quarter Pounder Deluxe.

McDonald’s also recently made some huge changes to its burgers for the first time in 50 years. McDonald’s said that beef patties will now have “tighter sear” on the grill, resulting in “hotter and juicier” beef patties. White onions will now be added to the grill on top of the patties as they cook, for added colour and a better charred flavour.
