A dog sitter has revealed the breeds she has found most trouble when looking after them – claiming to have ‘an anxiety attack’ with one particular breed while another another she finds ‘so neurotic’
A dog sitter has revealed that two breeds that are a ‘nightmare’ to look after and ‘bark at absolutely nothing’ – forcing her to rethink her stance on pets.
Anyone who loves dogs likely thinks it sounds like a dream to get paid to play and look after cute and fluffy pets all day long. But, one dog sitter has revealed that it is not all it is cracked up to be as some dogs may not be the playful, sweet kind you were expecting.
The dog walker, who wishes to remain unnamed, took to Reddit recently to speak about the reasons why she did not enjoy minding two specific types of dog. She claims that “every time” she looks after the dogs she has “an anxiety attack”.
One dog was a mix of a Golden Retriever and a poodle while the other was a Bernedoodle – a mix between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a poodle. The woman, who owns a Boxer dog, explained: “I watch a golden doodle and a Bernedoodle for long-standing clients of mine, and every time I housesit for them [for] longer than a day I get an anxiety attack.
“[They’re] so neurotic, will bark at absolutely nothing, and just will not listen to any commands. I have to walk them on their leashes in their fully fenced backyard to potty. Otherwise they’ll continually play keep away, try to eat the trees, the bunnies, etc. General puppy behaviour but in a 100+ pound dog. What a nightmare.”

She went on to add that she has also been looking after a Boston Terrier recently and was left “so surprised by how horrible the experience was”. The dog walker added: “Pulled worse than any dog I’ve ever walked (was surprised at how strong the little guy was) and then you’d have to wipe his butt after he went number two because sometimes it’s not a clean ‘break’ – which was totally new to me.”
She also said that she has had a difficult time with the beagle and doodle breads. She claimed that the dog of these two breeds that she has looked after have “the most annoying bark in the world” that “never ends”. She added that in her experience the breed is “fairly aggressive to other dogs”.
A number of Reddit users flocked to the comments section to share their experiences. “Doodles are, I swear, always horribly behaved,” wrote one reader. Another added: “Doodles, I have met a few that are fine but the majority are just bats**t crazy.”
