Prince Harry was snubbed by his father as King Charles decided not to meet his son because of his busy schedule, despite the Duke of Sussex being just two miles away
King Charles won’t be meeting with Prince Harry while he’s in the UK, with the pair having a long way to go before they fix their fraught relationship.
The Duke of Sussex returned to London on Tuesday to undertake several Invictus Games commitments. He will return to America on Thursday and while Harry had hoped to reunite with his father, it’s been confirmed this won’t happen.
Charles’ snub comes after years of feuding between Harry and the Royal Family. Relationship expert Louella Alderson has suggested there is the possibility of them to move past the feud, but it will take a lot of work.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Louella said the snub “doesn’t necessarily mean their relationship is beyond repair”. However, she added: “But it does show that there is still a lot of work to be done before they can move forward.
“It’s possible that with time and effort, they could eventually mend their relationship, but for now, it seems like they are not yet ready to do so. It appears there is a long road ahead for healing and rebuilding their relationship.
“It won’t be an easy journey, but it is possible if both parties are willing to put in the effort and make amends when they feel the time is right.” She said Charles’ decision not to see Harry “speaks volumes about the current state of their relationship”.
Louella explained: “It indicates that there is still a deep rift between them and that they are not yet ready or willing to reconcile. Harry is rarely in the UK, and this trip could’ve been an opportunity for them to have a face-to-face conversation and start working through their issues. However, if they are not even meeting, it suggests that there is still hurt and resentment on both sides.”
Harry was alone as he attended an Invictus Games event at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday night. The Duke of Sussex had hoped to reunite with his father, but Harry’s spokesperson explained the King is too busy.
In a statement, they said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. The duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
