A Reddit user has shared an ingenious way of customising your car sunroof, and other drivers online say they are seriously considering doing the same to their motors
Drivers have been tempted to alter their car sunroofs after a Reddit user shared snaps of an incredible customisation job.
Taking to the DIWHY subreddit – which has seen the submission of several less-than-impressive vehicle modifications in recent times – the user’s shots showed a sunroof incorporating a stained glass window design.
Featuring a variety of spring flowers in a stunning pastel coloured design, she added the caption: “Customise your sunroof because why not.” Her fellow users were quick to respond, stating the design was a welcome improvement on designs they had previously been subjected to in the group.
“Seriously, most of these posts are horror shows, but this is fine,” declared one Reddit user. “Live in a city? Park and want light but not have tenants staring down your head, this is fine.” Another agreed: “I actually am considering doing this to my sunroof now. Like it’s not a bad idea actually.”
A third added: “I don’t hate this. I have a s**tbox with a sunroof that I don’t really open anymore because the motor is sounding slow. This would be pretty cute imo.”
A fourth praised: “I like the idea of this. It allows in natural daylight, but might break up harmful UV rays that the sunroof allows through. I’m not keen on this particular selection, but would consider a different option for my car. Would be even cooler if the car companies made it like a pull across screen so you could keep it as a clear moonroof at night.”
And a fifth said: “I’m not a stained glass kinda guy, but I’d certainly like a bit more diffusion than the current tinting offers. Living in the desert, that sun just gets through everything. Like sky blue, maybe? The ability to add a design is a bonus.”
Elsewhere, others made reference to its church-feel, with one person quipping: “In the name of the father, the son and the holy sunroof.” A second joked: “Perfect for letting Jesus take the wheel.”
