King Charles III met with David Beckham on Thursday instead of making time to see his son, Prince Harry, who was visiting the UK for three days for an Invictus Games event
King Charles III made time to see someone other than Prince Harry.
The King met up with former soccer star David Beckham on Thursday, while Harry was back in the UK for a three day visit. The Duke returned to the UK for an Invictus Games event and attended a service at St. Paul’s Cathedral to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games on Wednesday. The Invictus Games’ a groundbreaking sports competition for ex-service people that Harry founded back in 2014.
The Royal Family did not make it to the event to show their support as King Charles was joined by a large group of royals in a show of unity at the Buckingham Palace garden party. They were only two kilometres from one another.

The Sun revealed that a source close to the King said that the two spoke about the King’s charity, the King’s Foundation, which established in 1986 by the King himself. The two were seen bonding in Highgrove, Gloucestershire. This was not the first time they met as they have in the past and with Victoria Beckham by his side as well.
According to royal insiders, another reason why King Charles turned down to see Harry was to avoid “drama.” It was believed that the two would see each other after the King was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. It was announced on Tuesday that a reunion between the duo was not in place as he had “other priorities” to see his son.
According to Harry’s official spokesman, the Duke understood why his father was unable to fit a visit into his schedule. Speaking on Tuesday, the representative said: “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme. The duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
The monarch is reportedly still waiting for an apology for the “drama” caused by his estranged son and Meghan Markle and views the Sussexes as a “painful distraction he could do without.” The Royal Family are not over what the Duke and Duchess said about them on the six part Netflix series and Harry’s memoir Spare.
