A woman was left baffled that her husband found her bra ‘inappropriate’ and moved it from the bathroom radiator – despite the fact laying her clothes out there was part of her morning routine
Getting ready in the morning can sometimes be a real challenge because you’re pushed for time, trying to get the kids sorted, while trying to get to work on time – so you’ll do anything to make your routine easier.
One woman was left baffled, however, when her husband interfered with her tried and tested morning plan and told her she needed to stop leaving her bra on the bathroom radiator.
She said he’d claimed it to be “taboo” and “inappropriate” due to her stepson, but she countered by saying that he has no issue with leaving his used boxers around for somebody else to clean up, saying she thought her husband was being totally unreasonable.
Taking to Mumsnet, she explained: “I get dressed in the bathroom each morning after a shower. The night before I lay my clothes out on the radiator in the bathroom, including my bra so that they are warm when the heating comes on after I get out of the shower.
“My husband had removed my bra this morning when he got up before me and put it in our room. When I asked why he said it was inappropriate because we have a teen stepchild in the house so it’s not right to leave it ‘lying around’.
“Am I unreasonable to think this is really ridiculous? It’s just a piece of clothing that 99% of women wear every day. It’s not sexual it’s a bl***y bra. It’s not like I left a flipping vibrator lying around the bathroom?!”
In the comments, 85% of people agreed that she wasn’t being unreasonable and that her husband shouldn’t have taken it off the radiator – as there’s nothing wrong with it.
“What a moron”, someone wrote, with another adding: “What a t**t. I currently have mine all lined up on my very overlooked washing line.” A Mumsnetter even said: “He’s being a prat. Nothing inappropriate about a bra at all, and the idea of a toasty bra in the morning is wonderful.”
Some could see his logic, however, with someone sharing: “I think a lot of teen boys would be embarrassed by seeing their stepmother’s underwear regardless of how normal it is.” Another added that her stepson may be “weirded out” by seeing her bra.
The original poster fumed in the comments, writing that her husband “is never too embarrassed not to leave his dirty underwear on the bathroom floor after a shower for someone else to move!” She also said: “Regardless though, it’s a perfectly normal piece of clothing. Why make it seem embarrassing/taboo? It’s literally just a bra…”
