Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are continuing their visit to Nigeria and today, the Duchess of Sussex was pictured wearing three very different outfits

Meghan Markle looked stunning in her third out during another day in Nigeria.

She wore a red dress while attending a summit to discuss the importance of mentorship for young women and the career challenges women face. On her second day in the country, the Duchess of Sussex wore three different outfits – a black and white dress in the morning, a white dress in the afternoon and a striking red number in the evening.

She spoke about the “humbling” experience of finding out, through a genealogy test, that she is partly Nigerian. She said at the event on women in leadership co-hosted by Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a Nigerian economist and head of the World Trade Organization (WTO): “Never in a million years would I understand it as much as I do now. And what has been echoed so much in the past day is, ‘Oh, we are not so surprised when we found out you are Nigerian. It is a compliment to you because what they define as a Nigerian woman is brave, resilient, courageous, beautiful.”

Here, the Mirror takes a look at all of Meghan’s outfit choices for the day…

Outfit no.1

Black and cream leaf print dress

Earlier today, Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, watched an exhibition sitting volleyball match at charity organisation Nigeria Unconquered in Abuja. She looked glamorous in a black and cream leaf print dress paired with black sandals, while Harry looked dapper in some smart trousers as he kept it casual with an Invictus Games polo shirt.

Meghan’s dress also featured cut-out details to the bust and a thigh-high leg split in the design. Johanna Ortiz’s Tropicana Nights dress also had thick black and cream embellished straps to add to the chic and modern look.

The Duchess forked out a whopping £2,275 for the dress, which she wore with confidence as she strolled hand in hand with Harry for the visit. The Duchess added an array of gold jewellery to her look including domed earrings and several bracelets, with her long dark hair styled in a simple ponytail.

The couple beamed as they walked hand-in-hand, with Meghan donning some sunglasses and holding onto the skirt of her dress. Meghan was seen hugging a little girl who gave her a bunch of roses – and she also smiled after receiving a painting featuring a series of characters including a bunny and a bird, as well as a slice of pizza, a tree and a sun.

White bandeau dress

The second outfit of the day for Meghan was a simple figure-hugging white bandeau dress that Meghan wore while attending a Sit Out at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters in Abuja. She wore her hair in a sleek updo and accessorised with an array of jewellery including a sparkling cross pendant worn around her neck.

Harry meanwhile complimented her look in a cream linen suit worn with a white shirt and dark-coloured tie. The couple greeted guests before taking their seats, which notably referred to their royal roots and were labelled “Duke” and “Duchess” instead of using their first names.

Outfit no.3

Red dress

The third outfit Meghan donned on Saturday was a stunning Red Ruffled Gown with flowing details by Nigerian designer Orire, which she paired with earrings, a necklace and bracelets. She kept her hair tied to the back while co-hosting an event of Women in Leadership, during which she discussed the moment she took a DNA test and discovered she has Nigerian heritage.

The Duchess of Sussex announced on her podcast in October 2022 that she found out through the DNA-based test that she was “43% Nigerian”. Her first reaction after finding out was to tell her mother, she said at the event in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja. “Being African American, part of it is really not knowing so much about your lineage and background … and it was exciting for both of us,” she said.
