Mind-boggling optical illusion
Regular optical illusions can be so good for your mind.
With these brainteasers, you’ll find yourself looking for a detail in an image that your friends can’t even spot. But truthfully, puzzles can work wonders for your intelligence and eyesight.
Now the latest viral image on Reddit might just leave you stumped for a few seconds (or even minutes). It was shared on the popular page called u/FindTheSniper. Since it was uploaded on May 8, it garnered hundreds of views.
In the caption, the user wrote: “Find that cat!” The image shows a standard living room with cosy sofas, blankets and a footrest. But if you really put your eyesight to the test, there’s an adorable kitten hiding somewhere.
Start by scanning each area of the image to find the feline. We can assure you, it won’t be simple to solve. Could it be by the blinds? Or possibly sitting on the sofa?
Don’t worry if you were stumped searching for the cat (we were too), try zooming in and looking inside the black plastic bag by the sofa. People on Reddit were left stumped trying to find the adorable animal.
One wrote: “Oh my goodness,” while another chimed in: “Awww.” And a third posted: “LMAO the trash bag in the middle, it seems like bait in the centre at first but nope there’s a cat in there.”
And others described the discovery as “how beautiful” and “so cute”. There are plenty of positives to challenging yourself with tests like this one. Recent research shows it can even stop your brain from ageing.
A study by the University of Exeter and King’s College London found similar exercises can brush-up adults’ recall and improve brain function by a decade.
Looking for similar challenges like this one? Recently, a tricky optical illusion has a hidden beast lurking somewhere and people are “too blind” to spot it. The picture garnered 12,000 upvotes and 1,400 comments since it was shared earlier this week.
