Peter Phillips was spotted hand-in-hand with new love interest – NHS paediatric nurse Harriet Sperling – at Badminton horse trials in Gloucestershire at the weekend

King Charles’s nephew introduced his new NHS nurse girlfriend to Queen Camilla after being spotted holding hands with her at a horse event at the weekend.

Peter Phillips – son of Princess Anne and first husband Captain Mark Phillips – appears to be happy once again after he spent the weekend with new love interest Harriet Sperling. The couple looked smitten as they strolled among crowds at the event in Gloucestershire, alongside his two daughters.

It comes after the 46-year-old was last month revealed to have ended his three-year romance with former flame Lindsay Wallace. Harriet, a paediatric specialist nurse and writer, glowed in a floaty blue dress on Sunday as they joined other royals at Badminton horse trials.

The business manager was previously married to Autumn Kelly with whom he shares daughters Savannah, 13, and 12-year-old Isla. The couple announced in 2020 they had separated the year before.

He was spotted sharing a warm greeting with Queen Camilla at the horse trials, although it is unclear whether Harriet has been introduced to other royals. Phillip’s sister Zara, 42, and Mike Tindall, 45, were also at the event at the weekend.

Attendees at the horsey event told how the couple looked very happy and relaxed in each other’s company as they ambled around and made the most of the weekend’s superb weather. “He looked like the cat that got the cream and acted without a care in the world,” a witness told The Sun.

Divorcee Peter is the late-Queen’s oldest – and said to be favourite – grandchild, and is currently a director at boutique sports management firm SEL UK. He married ex-wife Autumn in 2008 before their separation 11 years later, with their divorce being finalised in 2021.

He went on to date sister Zara’s former Gordonstoun classmate Lindsay Wallace the same year, before it was announced in April they had gone their separate ways. Sources claimed the relationship had ‘run its course’.

Friends of the pair also told Peter was travelling a lot for his work meaning the couple found it hard to find time for one another. The source told Hello! magazine: “It obviously came as a shock as most people thought they were absolutely rock solid, it’s very sad.

“Peter has been travelling all over the world and has been incredibly busy and Lindsay is based up in Scotland, so it’s been hard for them to see each other.”
