TikTok mum Geriiee Lamb, 27, has been labelled ‘cruel’ for choosing some very extravagant outfits for her six-month-old baby, Romy-Rae
A mum has spoken out against thousands of haters after they slammed the unusual way she chooses to dress her baby.
From pink designer onesies to charity shop baby grows – there’s certainly no shortage of baby clothes for any taste and occasion. But one mother has now been accused of taking this too far, having picked some bold outfits for her six-month-old daughter.
Geriiee Lamb has been labelled ‘cruel’ for dressing her baby head-to-toe in frills, bows and headdresses, while showcasing these fits on TikTok (@geriieelambb). Though, the mum from Keighley, West Yorkshire, is adamant that she’s done nothing wrong and simply just loves ‘to be different’.
“I have always hated people wearing the same thing,” the 27-year-old makeup artist revealed. “It’s different – she’ll stand out from a huge crowd! I get all sorts of comments [about it], but I’m thick skinned, I really couldn’t care less.”
Baby Romy-Rae’s bright and extravagant outfits are often handmade at the Once Upon A Bow boutique, according her mum – who even has shoes and a jacket to match her daughter’s. But Geriiee stressed that Romy-Rae wears a simple vest and sleepsuit most of the time, with the more striking looks saved for TikTok and special occasions.
“Her ears were [also] pierced at six months old,” Geriiee added. “She didn’t cry, it didn’t bother her whatsoever – people say it’s awful, some people like it… Some people love it, some people hate it.”
Geriiee also acknowledged that Romy-Rae may one day hate these fashion choices set out for her, but added: “No matter what you do people will judge. At the end of the day, my daughter is loved beyond belief.
“One day she might turn around to me and say ‘Mum stop putting me in frills,’ and if she did I would let her chose her own style. I’m just giving her a head start for fashion!”
Despite the criticism, many TikTok users have been quick to defend Geriiee’s choices too. On a recent video, one user wrote: “Imagine having THESE PICTURES as your baby pictures – little lady is gonna be absolutely winning when she gets older.”
Another added: “Not my cup of tea however do what you want cos that’s all that matters and erm how absolutely beautiful is she?”, while someone else chimed in: “Has no one seen this babas face in every photo?? She’s loving life – adorable.”
Others also claimed that anyone criticising Geriiee should stop trying to parent children that don’t belong to them. “Why don’t people just mind their own business?” one stressed. “[The] baby is healthy and happy, that’s all that matters.”
