Fortnite, WhatsApp, imessage and Facetime have gone down and DownDetector users are fuming as the apps and servers crash – stick with us for the latest updates tonight

Angry social media users and gamers are reporting big problems trying to use WhatsApp, imessage, Facetime – and Fortnite, tonight. Hundreds of reports are coming in on DownDetector.

On WhatsApp, the most reported problems are 69% sending messages, 28% app, 3% voice. on Fortnite, reports are just spiking now and 77% of them are about the server connection.

On Twitter, @SumitKapoor78 writes: “@WhatsApp @MarkZuckss @wa_status @whatsappbiz @WhatsappSu26539 @WhatsappSu14783 Guys why you are not responding anywhere, what is your customer care contact, how can anyone do live chat for any issues being face @MarkZuckss what kind of company standards you are following, if you can’t provide support services, shutdown WhatsApp.” [sic]

Regarding Fortnite, one user writes: “Fix this damn servers, I’m connect by ethernet cable to my WiFi box, meant to have like 10-25 ping, and getting well over 100. I’m sick of this game not working right.” [sic] Another says: “19gb update yesterday for it not to work then I turn it on this morning to see if the servers are working and what pops up? Fortnite needs an update might only be a small one but epic need to sort all this out it’s Saturday and all my kid wants to do is get on his Fortnite.” [sic]

Regarding WhatsApp, and commenting on DownDetector, one person wrote: “The video message button within a chat isn’t available. have checked updates, forced close, cleared cache, rebooted and still only have the mic icon, any thoughts?”

Another commented: “WhatsApp still says just ‘Connecting…’ at the top, annoying asf when im trying to message my mates rn.”

And another claims: “I can’t backup my chats since 7 pm ish. Last time I was able to was 10:30 ish this morning.”

Another wrote: “Just tried to send a message at around 1910 (UK time being 7.10pm) – one minute ago at around 7.09pm it would send it fine and a minute later, it has the ‘clock’ on it so it couldn’t send. I thought it was my phone’s internet at first until I checked this!”
