Even if your outside space is limited you can still get stuck in this summer by using this simple 30-minute gardening hack that will allow you to ”maximise’ planting all whilst looking ‘so beautiful’

If you’re struggling to imagine how to plant in a small space, this gardening hack is perfect for you.

Having a small outside space does not have to stop you from getting green-fingered and enjoying a stunning array of greenery once the warmer weather arrives in the summer. Whether you have a small patio garden, or simply boast a balcony as your outside space, then this gardening hack can help you take your planting to the next level, with its space-efficient method that takes only 30 minutes to put together.

Whether you are a novice gardener or an experienced one, this hack will help take your outside space to the next level, and it’s even suitable for renters who want to make sure that their deposit is safely returned to them when moving out.

TikTok user and gardening content creator – @kia_urbangardener – explained the easy hack in a short video posted to her account and how it took her only half an hour to create a vertical gardening wall that allowed her to fit a whopping nine plants into a small space.

“This is the gardening hack I wish I did years ago,” she said in the video, “and if you live in an apartment or are short on space, listen up. This is going to help you a lot.” Kia then displayed the wire rack that she used to create a “DIY wall garden”.

She explained that because she rents her property, she wanted to make sure that she could get the most out of her garden space without doing “any harm or damage to the wall”.

She attached hers to the fence with nails “and I can just remove the nails when I leave,” she explained but also advised someone in the comments that this hack would work just as well leaning against a wall if you are concerned about even putting nails into a wall or fence whilst renting.

The urban gardening expert explained that you can grow “pretty much anything that you would grow in a normal garden using her vertical wall garden hack, “but just remember that the pots are more shallow so opt for herbs or vegetables that grow well in a shallow pot.”

Kia managed to fit nine pots onto her DIY wall garden and noted “it took less than 30 minutes and was actually a lot of fun” to assemble. She also recommended that if you’re trying this one out you place your hanging garden in the spot in your outside space that gets a good amount of sunlight to ensure the plants you opt for thrive.

The content creator explained that she recommended this hack so strongly because it makes your outside space look “so beautiful” and compared it to “a feature or piece of art on the wall”.

Commenters were quick to praise the hack, with one noting it “looks amazing” and another calling it “beautiful”.
