Amber Luke went blind for three weeks after having her eyeballs tattooed seven years ago – but now she’s done it again, sharing her striking new look on social media
Body modifications are no joke.
A woman who claims to be Australia’s “most tattooed woman” has claimed she once went blind for three weeks when she had her eyeballs tattooed bright blue, and now she’s done it again seven years later.
Amber Luke, who is also known as ‘Dragon Girl’ online, has spent a staggering £144,000 on tattoos and body modifications, and in a post shared on Instagram over the weekend, she revealed she has gone under the needle once again to have her eyeballs coloured in. The woman already had the whites of her eyes inked bright blue, but she’s now had swirls of black added to make her eyes look “oceanic”.
Posting on her @amberluke666 account, the woman said she first had her eyes tattooed seven years ago but went blind for three weeks as a result of the procedure – which she described as the “most brutally torturous agony” she has ever experienced.
She wrote: “Let me tell you a story; one about personal perseverance & taking back what’s yours. I was blinded for 3 weeks upon my first ever body modification – 7 years ago now. That in itself was the most brutally torturous agony I have experienced to this date so far…then why the hell do it again you ask?
“For this exact moment – for this exact feeling and emotional connection. I have waited 7 long years to experience what I did yesterday … and I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else other than my good friend @gattoo_moreno – who I have been in contact with for 6 years now.
“Gattoo ensured that I would be in the best hands – and he was 100% correct. From checking in at the procedure to aftercare and the validation of my pain throughout; it made me feel human again. I cannot thank you and your team enough for travelling here to meet me and letting me experience what I deserved 7 years ago.”
Amber accompanied the words with a video that showed a closeup of her eye, and commenters were hugely supportive. Many told her they loved how her eyes looked with the new colour, and some called her “brave” for doing it again after her previous experience.
One person wrote: “Looks so cool. I’m glad you’ve had a better experience this time.” Another posted: “This must feel so amazing for you!! finally getting the experience you wanted and being able to put that traumatic experience in the past.”
According to WebMD, there are numerous risks to getting your eyeballs tattooed, including vision loss, infections, inflammation, and in severe cases, eyeball loss. A safer alternative to eyeball tattoos is to buy coloured contact lenses.
