The sunny weather is to be interrupted as BBC forecasters are predicting showers this week with nearly 48 hours of nonstop rain on Wednesday and Thursday (May 22 and 23). BBC Weather shows it will begin raining at 6am on Wednesday and may not stop until 10pm on Thursday.
Friday (May 24) will be relatively unremarkable, while Saturday (May 25) will see the sun poking out – a pleasant entrance to the bank holiday weekend. Sadly the Sunday (May 26) and Monday (May 27) won’t be as pleasant as it will be raining at times.
Meanwhile the UK’s national forecaster, The Met Office, has slightly different predictions. It predicts ‘light showers’ between 1pm and 7pm on Wednesday and only light rain around 7pm on Thursday.

According to the BBC, Monday (May 20) will see ‘sunny spells through much of the afternoon. However, there will also be the chance of the odd shower. Turning a little cloudier by the evening. Staying breezy’.
Whereas Monday night will see ‘clear spells and variable cloud around initially tonight. However as the night progresses, cloud will increase from the east leaving it overcast by dawn’.
Tuesday (May 21) will remain overcast. A few spells of light rain will be possible in the morning. By the afternoon, they will progressively turn heavier and more frequent with the odd rumble of thunder.
Whereas: “Wednesday is set to turn overcast and wet with frequent outbreaks of rain progressing northwestwards through the day. Turning dry with clear spells by the evening. Thursday will see a mix of cloud, sunny breaks and a few light showers. Sunnier on Friday, but still with the possibility of a few further light showers, more likely in the morning.”
