Thousands of Swifties will finally get to see their idol perform live next month, as the Love Story singer arrives for the UK leg of her sell-out Eras Tour.
The global pop sensation will play shows in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, Dublin and London this summer, with lucky ticket holders paying hundreds of pounds to see their idol perform. To ensure that fans can secure entry into their chosen venue, they should think carefully about how much stuff they take to avoid falling foul of bag policies across all four venues.
Wembley, Anfield, Murrayfield and The Principality Stadium all have strict rules for fans that could see them forced to leave their belongings behind. Ticketholders who don’t have a

While a smaller bag may prevent you from indulging in numerous costume changes in time with Taylor on stage, there are important reasons why smaller bags are better. Limiting the size of bags that attendees can bring into events helps security personnel manage and control the items that enter the venue, and searching these bags takes less time so you can get settled in your seat nice and quickly.
Larger bags also take up more space and can cause unwanted congestion at entry points. Allowing only small bags helps streamline the entry process and ensures that there is enough room for everyone to move through security checkpoints smoothly.
While you will want to bring several things with you to the concert, you must be familiar with the bag policy of the venues. Different venues have restrictions on what kind of bags you can bring and what you can carry. To avoid disappointment or delay, we’ve rounded up the rules for each of the four UK Eras Tour venues:
Wembley Stadium
Fans with tickets to see the singer in London will be permitted to bring a bag measuring no more than A4 size or 29 x 21 x 21cm.
On the Wembley Stadium website it says “Bags smaller than A4, with or without a handle or strap, are permitted. This should enable you to carry the same items you have in previous years and speed up entry into the stadium for all fans because it will take less time to screen bags. Shorter lines mean fewer hassles. We encourage fans not to bring any bags, but have created a policy that balances fan needs with improved public safety and convenience.”

Anfield, Liverpool
According to the website’s Major Events guidelines, bags should be A5 size or smaller and no backpacks, holdalls, luggage and/or cushions will be permitted. While this does limit space for what you can carry into the venue, fans have been sharing hacks on social media including wearing outfits with extra pockets to keep smaller items safely tucked away while you strut your stuff.

Principality Stadium, Cardiff
In light of the increased security measures being taken at public events in recent years, the Cardiff stadium feels that it’s better for everyone if you do not bring a bag at all.
Visitors to the Principality Stadium will not be permitted to bring large bags into the stadium, but small bag or handbags should be OK. Smaller bags are classed as 35cm x 40cm x 19cm or ablou the size of a standard handbag.
There are no bag storage facilities available at the stadium, so Swifties are advised to please plan if they need to travel to Cardiff with a large bag.
Murrayfield, Edinburgh
The Scottish stadium also has a strict A4 bag policy (30cm x 21cm x 8cm) for the Taylor Swift concerts. The website also advises that there will be “100% bag searches taking place prior to coming into the venue.”
The website also advises that bags do not need to be clear and that
- 100% searches on all ticket holders prior to entering the venue
- There will be a strict A4 bag policy (30cm x 21cm x 8cm) for the concerts and there will be 100% bag searches taking place prior to coming into the venue – please note that bags do not need to be clear.
- Any bags over A4 – unless brought in for childcare or medical purposes will not be permitted into the venue.
- Prohibited items will be updated shortly – please note there will be medical and childcare exceptions to some restricted items.
