McDonald’s is shaking up its menu once again, but fans are reeling that a cult-favourite item has been replaced. Luckily, you may still have a chance of getting hold of it if you act quickly

For once, McDonald’s fans can’t say they’re (ba da ba ba ba) lovin’ it…

The fast-food chain is dropping its latest menu this week (May 29) just in time for the start of summer. Hungry customers will soon be able to try a whole host of treats, including a brand new Skittles McFlurry (£2.19) and The Hat Trick burger (£5.89/ £7.69) – featuring three beef patties, cheese, grilled onions, mustard and ketchup in a sesame seed bun.

Classics including the Chicken Sharebox (£10.59), nine Chicken Selects Sharebox (£8.49), and Mozzarella Bites (£2.39) will also return to the menu, alongside the Galaxy Caramel McFlurry (£2.19) and Galaxy Chocolate and Raspberry Pie (£1.99). However, one classic item is being phased out – and Brits aren’t happy.

The famed Sour Cream & Chive dip will only be available whilst stocks last and has been replaced with a new Garlic Mayo dip – The Mirror can confirm. McDonald’s BBQ dip will also be upgraded to a new Sweet & Smokey BBQ sauce.

Whilst fans were thrilled to hear of the new additions, many lamented their favourite item of all: the sour cream and chive dip. Taking to Instagram, one user wrote: “Replacing the sour cream and chive dip?! No that’s the best dip.” Another agreed, commenting: “[You] can’t have Chicken Select without sour cream.” A third added: “Why the f**k are they replacing sour cream and chive?? I’ll never order selects again.” While a fourth penned: “NOOOOOO!! Not the sour cream.”

McDonald’s regularly shakes up its menu depending on the time of year, meaning many other cult-faves will be axed in the coming days. This includes the acclaimed Biscoff McFlurry, Chicken Big Mac, and Biscoff Frappe.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom, as the popular Iced Latte (£2.49) will be returning to stores as a permanent addition. The fast food chain says the drink is ‘perfect for when you want to cool down in the summer heat’ and is bound to become a morning staple for any commuters.
