It turns out Brits have all noticed a tell-tale sign that indicates whether a takeaway pizza delivery is going to be ‘the best or worst’ you’ve ever had, and it’s left the internet in stitches
There’s nothing quite like a takeaway pizza when you’re super hungry, but with so much choice out there it can be hard to know where’s good and where to avoid.
Brits online, however, have shared the most “accurate” way to tell whether somewhere is going to be the “best” you can get – but it’s bad news, because they reckon the exact same sign means it could also be the “worst” of all the takeaways.
@NoContextBrits took to X, formerly Twitter, to write: “When you see this, you know you’re getting the best or worst pizza of your life” – and other people wholeheartedly agreed.
The majority of people will recognise the box, which reads: “Delicious, freshly baked,” with a generic picture of a pizza on it – and it will make mouths water.
For many, it will be reminiscent of a greasy meal after nights out with pals. For others, the cardboard box will be what your local uses, reminding you of that one place you can’t stop going back to.
One X user wrote: “Many nights out ended with little more than this box and a walk home.” Another said: “99% of the time it’s absolutely s***e or a random garlic bread.” Someone else said that it was “accurate”, and another X user joked: “The bottom of the box is likely to be see-through from all the grease.”
“Pizza is pizza, and my family eats it like it is the first or may be the last pizza of their life. Every time,” another said.
Other comments included: “I’ve never had anything good come in one of these boxes”, “I love the cheap greasy pizzas that come in these boxes”, and “Drunk late night pizza is the best.” A final comment read: “Had a housemate at uni order these as part of ‘his diet’ and he ordered a lot. Safe to say I got a lot of free pizza leftover.”
