Prince George’s recent appearance with Prince William at the FA Cup final led to Royal Family fans drawing comparisons between him and a relative of his grandmother, Princess Diana

Royal Family fans say Prince George is starting to look like a lesser-known relative of Princess Diana.

Pictures of the young royal with his father Prince William at the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Manchester City had Reddit users speculating over the young royal’s lookalikes, and comparisons were made between the Prince and Princess of Wales’ eldest son and Diana’s nephew Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp.

The post on the r/RoyalsGossip forum was captioned: “George looks like Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp in some pictures.” Spencer, the eldest son of Charles Spencer, is a first cousin of William and Prince Harry. The 30-year-old actor is in line to inherit the magnificent Althorp estate.

But that wasn’t the only comparison to be drawn. A comment on the thread read: “George looks like a mixture of Louis Spencer and George V.” Another wrote: “He looks so much like his great uncle and grandmother. This picture’s making me feel nostalgic, as in I cannot believe I would ever refer to Princess Diana as a grandmother. So very bittersweet.”

Other comparisons were made to Charles Spencer, the father of Louis and younger brother of Princess Diana, and to Queen Elizabeth II’s father, King George VI. One user claimed: “I think he looks like his great great grandfather, Elizabeth’s father, King George VI, exactly the same eyes!” Another wrote: “I think he and charlottes favor their grandmother the queen quite a bit in the eyes. [sic]”

Another comment suggested Prince George was “all Spencer” and had his dad’s side of the family to thank for his appearance. The user wrote: “George is all Spencer. He looks more similar to his great uncle than he does to either of his parents.” A separate user replied: “Do you mean Louis Spencer? He is first cousins with Prince William, so he would technically be Prince George’s first cousin once removed.”
