If your garden furniture has spent months stored in a cold shed or under a rain cover – the chances are mould and mildew will have seized the opportunity to grow. Luckily, there’s a cheap and effective way to get rid of it
It’s finally time to get your green gloves on and get back in the garden.
With summer just around the corner, Brits are trying to salvage their abandoned gardens from the miserable winter we all endured. Whilst the onslaught of rain prevented us from ever leaving the house, it also provided the perfect environment for mould and mildew to grow on our patio furniture- especially on soft fabric like your pillows.
Luckily, savvy shoppers have found the perfect solution to banish those pesky spores and leave your chairs and tables looking ‘like new’. Plus, it’ll only set you back £1.49.
Taking to the B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Savings Deals and More Facebook page, one person hailed the Astonish Mould & Mildew Blaster spray after noticing a ‘little fabric seat’ she’d stored in the shed had become ‘covered in mould’. “This stuff is absolutely amazing, ” they added. “I sprayed it with [Astonish] and left it to soak. Oh my god it’s now spotless.”
Fellow cleaning enthusiasts agreed the cleaner was well worth a try, with many claiming it works well on pretty much anything. “I cleaned my old hot tub as it had gone mouldy. It looked brand new after using this,” one person wrote. Another agreed, commenting: “Even my garden ornaments when they get all that green on them from one year to the next, brings them up like new.” While a third says she uses the product for pretty much ‘everything’.

An overwhelming number of users recommend the Kilrock Mould Remover spray – which you can pick up from The Range for just £1.99, or online at Amazon for £5.77. “Kilrock is the best stuff I’ve had, but it does strip paint off as it’s that strong,” one person commented. Another agreed, stating: “This product is amazing…not only does it kill mould it also bleaches.”
A third added: “My shower tiles were getting a little grimy and no amount of scrubbing or limescale remover helped… Leave this product on for 25-30 minutes and the grout is whiter than the rest of my tiled bathroom now.”
