Prince Harry ‘must be feeling the heat’ as frank drug admissions lead to consequences

Prince Harry could be forced to look for a new country to live in if Donald Trump becomes the US President again, a Royal expert has claimed, as the Duke of Sussex faces questions over his immigration status

Prince Harry’s bombshell autobiography ‘Spare’ famously sent shockwaves through the Royal Family with its explosive revelations – but it is feared the Duke could be “feeling the heat” over possible repercussions after some of his candid revelations were branded “unnecessary”.

The book’s candid confessions about his past use of cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms have sparked debate over whether he disclosed this information on his US visa application upon moving stateside. The Heritage Foundation, a conservative policy institute in Washington, is taking legal action to obtain Prince Harry’s immigration files, arguing that the case hinges on “whether the government provides special treatment for high profile celebrities”. They are zeroing in on the documents Prince Harry would have completed when he arrived in the US on 14 March, 2020, as typically, entrants to the country must respond to inquiries regarding past recreational drug use.

The situation could spell fresh concerns for the Duke, claims ex-BBC Royal reporter Jennie Bond, who told OK! magazine: “Harry must regret having been so frank about drugs in his book. It really wasn’t a necessary part of the narrative although I understand that he was trying to explain his mental health issues. But admissions like that can have consequences and, right now, he must be feeling the heat. I think he’s fine as long as the Biden administration continues to back him. But things could be very different if Trump became president again.

“In the end, though, I can’t imagine that the USA would actually throw him out. Lawyers would find some way around it, I think. But it must be an unnecessary worry and embarrassment for Harry at the moment. I suppose if the worst came to the worst, they would have to find somewhere else to live but I doubt that it would be the UK. Perhaps Canada would look kindly on them. But I don’t think it will come to that.”

Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe has suggested Meghan Markle is overshadowing Prince Harry, which he believes suits Harry’s preference to take a back seat. He said: “Meghan is a very strong character, very driven, extremely ambitious, and those are the kind of characteristics that mean she will almost always inevitably outshine Harry and grab the attention from him.”

“Harry is entirely in her shadow. But he’s never really been at ease with the attention, he’s never really enjoyed it. Whether it’s deliberate or not, Meghan is definitely a magnet for attention. Although we saw a huge amount of money spent on her combined outfits for Nigeria so maybe it’s not a complete accident that she steals the limelight. Their Nigeria trip was ‘The Meghan Show’ and Harry was the side.”
