Luckily for us, a TikTok user has shared an incredibly easy hack to unblock your drains – and it won’t cost you a penny. The simple trick will transform how you clean forever.
The content creator, who goes by the name “ouisaucy”, received hundreds of comments after posting the ingenious video, with many thanking him for the revelation, having tried it themselves.
In the video, people see a clogged up sink with no obvious blockage, but instead of calling a plumber, the creator simply places his hand over the plughole and pulsates it up and down – mimicking the use of a plunger.
After a few tries, the water starts flowing easily down the plughole again, with minimal effort. It’s the ulitmate simple fix!
One person said: “I cannot tell you how grateful I am!” Another added: “Absolutely works! Family looks at me like I’m crazy for doing this.”
A third said: “Stood there for about 35 minutes trying to figure out what to do and I tried two pumps of this and it’s unblocked!”

Jennifer Shaw, an expert at Plumbworld, confirmed this is a great first step to try to clear the blockage yourself before getting professional help.
She said: “This is actually a very useful way of aiding small blockages along. Your hand essentially acts in the same way as a plunger and will unclog small bits of debris that may have got caught in the pipes.
“Most of the time, this method should work but if you’re still having trouble then using a drain unblocker or calling a professional might be the only option.
“Another easy way to help unblock a drain with just the use of household products is simply mixing one-third of a cup of vinegar with one-third of a cup of baking soda. When it starts to fizz, quickly pour it down your clogged drain and it should do the trick
