Woman shares reality check on value of engagement rings
A woman left fans stunned after she revealed the bizarre way her best friend found out her partner was cheating when they went to get her engagement ring.
Tallulah Rose, who posts online under the username @tallulah.roseb, warned her fans to “never trust a man” as she shared a video sharing “juicy” details of her friend’s break-up. The influencer, from Sydney, Australia, claimed her friend was about to get engaged to her boyfriend of two years and she had selected the perfect ring.
The woman has selected a ring, which cost more than $2,000 a piece (£1,500), and her boyfriend agreed to get her one. Sounds nice, right? Well, it was until his card declined – but not because he didn’t have the money.
It declined because he was trying to buy a Darry ring, luxury brand of engagement rings that requires buyers to provide identification and sign an agreement promising to purchase only one for their lifetime love. But he had already bought one before.
In the video, which gained more than 85,000 likes, she explained: “My friend has been dating this guy for two years. Two f*****g years, okay? They lived together and they’re going to get engaged, right? And she said to him, I want a ring from this company.
“Like a good fiance-to-be, he goes to buy one. I’ve met this guy and like,I think he’s just like, really f*****g stupid and just like, didn’t get the concept of the company. He goes to buy one with her next to him. Anyways, the purchase was declined.
“Because it turns out, weirdly, he had already bought one, even though my friend had never received a ring. Turns out he’d bought one like very recently, like a month before.
“He had been seeing ‘the girl he tells you not to worry about for like the past six months’. He’d already bought her one and given her one.” Tallulah praised the Darry Ring company for “doing God’s work” before informing fans the couple had broken up since the incident.
TikTok users were left stunned by the clip, with many women claiming they were going to ask their partners for a Darry ring too.
One user said: “Only ever requesting a Darry ring now,” while another added: “Awesome that the company exists, exposing people like that guy.” A third penned: “I want whomever I’m settled down with to get a Darry Ring.”
Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: “Gurl, this is why I stay single.” Someone else commented: “It’s crazy he doesn’t know what a Darry Ring is before buying one.”
