The retailer has confirmed they’re down to the ‘last units’ so beauty fans will have to act fast to save on the haul
High street retailer Marks and Spencer have made a major update to their 2024 Summer Beauty Bag, and it’s good news for beauty fans. However, if you want to get your hands on it, you’ll have to be quick, after insiders told The Mirror they’re down to the ‘last units’.
Previously, shoppers had to spend £35 on clothing, beauty and home in order to qualify to buy the set, which is worth £170, for £30. The haul proved so popular that it sold out online last week, but has since returned to the website with a bit of a difference.
Instead of having to meet the spending threshold, the Summer Beauty Bag is now available to buy on its own without the need to spend first. When it launched, the bag was priced at £170 online and would automatically reduce at the checkout when meeting the criteria, but M&S has since confirmed to our fashion and beauty team that it can now be purchased separately.

Inside this year’s bag are 12 products including four full-sized items and eight deluxe samples, which are perfect for any summer trips you may have planned. It comes in as better value than last year, where there were 11 products with a value of £155, though there were six full sized products in the haul.
I tried the edit for myself, and if you’re a fan of fragrance, it’s worth the cost for just one item alone. Inside shoppers will find a 10ml bottle of Floral Street Arizona Bloom, which is worth £29, which makes everything else pretty much free, so it wouldn’t really matter if I liked the rest of the contents or not (though I absolutely did).
Other products I was really excited about were Molly-Mae Hague’s go-to toner, the Ren Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic , as well as the Dr.PAWPAW SPF Lip Balm and This Works Perfect Legs Body Butter. You can read my full review of the bag here.
And I’m not the only one impressed by the edit. In just three weeks, the Summer Beauty Bag has racked up a 4.9 star rating based on more than 1,000 reviews. One said: “The Summer Beauty Bag is absolutely brilliant! There is everything you need inside from skincare to make up and perfume. The Floral Street perfume on its own costs £28, so paying £30 for the whole bag is a real bargain. I think it is better than last years.”
Another added: “Really pleased I bought one of these. Each year I think about getting one but never do so this year I actually got one. Such amazing value , four full-sized products, two really nice perfumes & probably only one product that I won’t really use (the volumizer) just not for me I’m afraid. Great opportunity to try out products I’ve never used before. Top marks to Marks.”
While a third described it as: “A little pack of surprises.” They continued: “Good to be able to sample various products before purchase, especially as some are quite expensive. All products were of use and good sizes. Loved the make up bag. Able to easily see what is inside without having to rummage. Personally i thought it great value and worth the money. I will certainly use it all.”
Though as is often the case with curated edits like this, is that with so much packed inside, it’s unlikely that shoppers will love every single item inside, with one adding: “Disappointing batch of items that I would not normally buy. Whilst the leg moisturiser is very nice, the rest of the items are not suited, particularly the hair and perfume products.”

Elsewhere, ASOS has just launched a Face + Body Travel Essentials Beauty Bag for 2024 . The edit, worth over £150, contains a selection of summer beauty must-haves and viral sensations that are perfect for taking on holiday, or adding to your warm weather self-care routine.
The haul is priced at £40, saving over £100 on the contents , which includes eight products from the likes of Sol de Janiero, Elemis and Kylie Skin. One of the products inside the box is worth £36 alone, meaning you get the remaining seven for £4. Another way to look at it is that all of the products work out at £5 each.
Meanwhile, Cult Beauty has announced a Travel Essentials Edit which is worth over £165 but priced at £42. Or you can pick up the Marks and Spencer Summer Beauty Bag here.
