White marks on the hob can be incredibly annoying, especially if you’ve tried everything you can to get them off. But luckily cleaning fans have found a product which they say make your hob ‘look like new’ again
If you’ve got white marks on your hob you’ve probably found out that no amount of scrubbing and elbow grease helps – but luckily cleaning fans have found an amazing product to help.
Stains on your ceramic hob is normal due to spills, grease or burnt food – and over time they are a nightmare to clean. While you may think hero products like white vinegar and baking soda can come to the rescue, you’ll probably find they won’t do anything for it.
Taking to Facebook, one woman, who has faced this dilemma, shared a picture of her hob, which was covered in white marks. “Hey anyone know how I can clean my top bit of my oven stove here?” she asked the We Love Mrs Hinch Facebook group. Explaining how the marks had appeared, she said: “I put charcoal on the stove to hear for my shisha and that’s why it’s done that.”
Luckily, fellow fans of online cleaning sensation Sophie Hinchliffe, also known as Mrs Hinch, came to the rescue with a solution which had worked for many of them – Astonish Hob Cream Cleaner. One person shared a bottle of the product, and said: “I use Astonish hob cleaner.”
Several other Facebook users said they had tried it too, and found it “brilliant”. “I use it on my electric hob. It’s brilliant,” said one cleaning fan. Another said they “swear by” the product.
On the Robert Dyas website, where you can purchase it for £2.09, the product has had 17 five star reviews, with one person saying they were “very pleased” with the product as it “cleans really well with minimum effort”. Another added: “Got all the stains away. Looks like new.”
Others suggested the woman could try the Pink Stuff paste, with one person writing: “Pink stuff paste leave on 10 mins then scrub in circular motion then rinse cloth and wipe away.” Another simply said: “Pink stuff is brilliant.”
However, as the Pink Stuff is abrasive cleaner, you should be careful using it on hobs as it could be too harsh and potentially scratch the glass surface. If in doubt, look at the instructions on how to use the product.
