Say goodbye to greasy fingerprints on your kitchen counter for good with this ‘amazing’ hack from cleaning pro Alison Chadwick. Plus, it only requires three ingredients that you can pick up for less than £2
There’s nothing worse than your newly-clean kitchen being invaded by greasy fingerprints.
If you’ve got children, or a partner that loves to open every cupboard drawer in search of a glass, you’ll know how quickly unsightly fingerprints can ruin your hard work. The mini marks are easy to wipe away, but preventing them from returning is the challenge.
Luckily, cleaning and home interior pro Alison Chadwick recently shared a ‘magic’ hack she swears by. Her tried and tested hack doesn’t require any expensive, chemical-filled cleaners and will only set you back £1.55. In fact, you probably have everything you need lying around the house already…
Known as The Chadwick Home online, the cleaning ace has amassed more than 100,000 followers for her handy tricks to keep your home sparkling. In a recent video, the DIY lover simply mixes equal parts of dishwasher rinse aid and white vinegar into an empty spray bottle, before adding a ‘squirt’ of dish soap and filling the bottle with warm water.
“No more fingerprints,” she said, as she wiped the homemade solution along her kitchen counter and appliances. Once the solution dries, Chadwick presses her finger onto the cleaned areas to prove no fingerprint marks bounce through.
If you’re running low on washing-up liquid, you can pick up a bottle of Fairy for just £1 from your local Asda, or £10.99 for five 320ml bottles from Amazon if you prefer to shop online. White vinegar will only set you back 35p from Tesco for 568ml or £6.99 for a 5l tub from Amazon, while dishwasher rinse aid is £1.20 at Home Bargains.
