The M25 is blocked entirely near Surrey this afternoon (Wednesday, June 12). The motorway is closed clockwise between J11 A320 St Peters Way in Chertsey to J12. This is due to a lorry fire.
Surrey Fire and Rescue Service say they have safety concerns about the vehicle that was on fire. They urged drivers to avoid the area entirely.
There are 90-minute delays in the area as all four lanes are closed clockwise. This is up from 60 minutes.
Elsewhere on the M25, before J15 M4 clockwise in Berkshire, there are the usual delays, according to traffic and travel monitoring site Inrix. Travel time is 15 minutes.
On the stretch of the motorway approaching the roadworks clockwise before J10 A3 on the Wisley Interchange, there are more delays. Anticlockwise on the same stretch, travel time is 10 minutes.
In Essex, there are delays clockwise from J27 M11 J6 to J28 A12 near Brentwood and Brook Street roundabout.
In Hertfordshire, there are delays from J22 A1081 near St Albans and London Colney to J23 A1(M) J1 near South Mimms. Lane closures are in place.
