Princes George and Louis and sister Princess Charlotte were pictured wrapped around Prince William in a Father’s Day snap as the quartet gazed out to sea in Norfolk
A picture posted by Prince William’s three children for Father’s Day shows Prince George is taking on a protective role in his younger brother’s life, according to an expert
Princes George, Prince Louis and sister Princess Charlotte shared the sweet snap on the Kensington’s X account earlier today to mark Father’s Day. It featured a picture of the quartet gazing out to the sea on Norfolk beach last month with their backs to the camera. The three kids were seen wrapped around William. Kate, Princess of Wales, took the photo herself, and it was subsequently released on social media along with a caption: “We love you, Papa. Happy Father’s Day. G, C & L.”
According to body language expert Judi James, the image shows Prince George has taken on a protective role in Prince Louis’ life. She explained: “George and Louis are clearly growing up fast though and getting to the age where they want to show independence rather than joining the kind of pile-on pose they’ve enjoyed in the past.
“They stand with their arms around each other, with George’s left arm implying a trait that we can often see during their appearances now, that he is taking some of the protective role in his younger brother’s life over from his dad.”
Meanwhile, Louis was spotted hanging his left arm down by his side, instead of wrapping it around his father. It could be a sign that he wants to be seen as growing up, and he’s no longer a little kid, according to expert Judi James. She explained how Louis’ demeanour had some key indicators about how he feels as the youngest royal. Speaking to The Mirror Judi said: “Louis keeps his own left arm hanging down, suggesting a strong desire to prove he’s not a small child any more.”
The expert went on to explain why Prince William and the children didn’t face camera in sweet Father’s Day photo. She told the Mirror: “Photographed from the back view, they avoid actually communicating with the camera. It suggests this is an intimate and loving moment caught rather than a ‘show pony’ one posed to please the viewer.”
