After returning to his childhood bedroom in his parents’ house, a man was left shocked after uncovering a series of bizarre etchings of symbols and diagrams under the paintwork
A man has uncovered a series of weird drawings under the paintwork in his childhood bedroom, prompting him to fear he’s been cursed.
Taking to Reddit, he shared a snap of his bizarre discovery after cleaning up in his parents’ house. “Found in my childhood bedroom wtf does it mean?” he asked in confusion.
The piece of paper, which appeared to have been impeccably preserved, featured a series of diagrams and symbols along with various captions whose meaning is likely known only to their creator. “While cleaning my childhood bedroom in my parents house, I found this stuck to the wall and painted over, above the door frame,” the man added in the Weird subreddit.
He concluded: “It was very well hidden. I believe it to be a curse, my mum suspects our aunt did it. Does anyone know what these symbols mean or what curses they bring soon someone?”
Scores of others were quick to responding adding a sense of eeriness to the situation as they told the man the symbols was related to occultism. “Keys of Solomon, tablet of Hermes, enochian seals,” one Redditor said. “Victorian era occultism. No names typically associated with malice.”
A second explained: “The drawing you found appears to be a collection of occult symbols and sigils, which are often used in various forms of mystical and esoteric practices. This drawing is likely an amalgamation of symbols from various esoteric traditions intended for spiritual or protective purposes. The presence of elemental symbols, angelic names, and deities suggests it could be part of a ritualistic or magical practice meant to invoke protection, guidance, or power. The painting over it might indicate it was no longer in use or meant to remain hidden from casual observation.”
A third attempted to offer reassurance to the man, meanwhile. “Archangel seals/symbols representing Gabriel, Uriel and Raphael respectively along with some books of Moses looking seals above them,” they added. “They’re good things.”
While a fourth detailed further: “I am someone who is decently versed in occultism and I also create my own sigils. From what I understand this is a set of sigils, inspired by Solomonic seals though original creations. What I get is a blessing of protection by the powers that be, based on the individuals naming of their seals.
“Obviously Yaweh is the One, Diana and Panlucifer their representation of Lord and Lady, and afterwards a bunch of angels and a couple demons. Please note, demon does not equate bad, it is merely another aspect of the powers. In order to be fully protected it does pay to not just call upon one aspect.
“Anyway, it’s not giving cures, but if it’d make you feel better you can place the note in a container of salt for three days and three nights, then burn it, say a prayer to whatever higher powers you follow, and scatter the ashes somewhere with running water.”
The man later returned to returned to the post, but appeared to be sceptical about the significance of his find. “Thank you,” he said. “To everyone reading this I don’t believe in this stuff just wondering what it means.”
