No matter how hard you try to keep your home clean, greasy fingermarks seem to just appear out of nowhere.
You might have spent hours meticulously cleaning your home, but it only takes one person who hasn’t scrubbed their hands after eating to start leaving grubby hand prints everywhere. Parents who have small children running around the house will know this pain all too well.
But luckily there’s a homemade spray that you can make, using ingredients you probably already have in your cleaning cupboard, which could help prevent dirty fingerprints in your home. TikTok user @foreverhomejune19 shared a clip on the platform, writing: “Genius… fingerprint hack. I saw this hack on Insta and had to try it.”
Going onto explain what is needed, the woman, who shares home interior, cleaning and lifestyle hacks on the platform, said to grab “equal parts white vinegar and rinse aid” plus a “dash of washing up liquid and warm water”. Nicknaming it a “magic potion”, she continued: “Just wait and see the results.”
After adding all the ingredients to an empty spray bottle, the woman demonstrated how effective the spray on a door handle. After a couple of sprays of the ‘magic potion’, which is then wiped away, she tries to stamp her fingers on it to make a mark – but nothing appears.
According to the woman, she also tried the ‘genius’ hack on glass doors and mirrors – which also came out well. People in the comment section were very impressed, with one person saying it was a “cool idea”, and another adding: “Amazing.”
White vinegar has many wonderful uses in the home, and the cleaner also says it can stop bugs coming into her home. In another recent video she showed how she sprays white vinegar around window frames and doors. “It really does work,” she explained, adding: “I used to get ear bugs and even slugs coming in.”
